VENUE About Fukuoka   Fukuoka is a city of many historical sites, beautiful natural views with mild climate, arts and crafts. Fukuoka is a thriving place with a population of about 1.4 million, the largest city of Kyushu Island. Located near from Korea and China, Fukuoka has been serving as a gateway to Asian from ancient times. In fact, Fukuoka is recognized as one of the most livable international cities in the area, and has been experiencing dynamic growth and development as a hub city for the East Asia, hosting numerous international air and sea routs throughout the Asia and Pacific regions. Unlike other cities, Fukuoka Airport is within easy reach of the city center. The travel time, via the modern subway system, is less than 15 minutes from the city center. You can easily fly out of Fukuoka to most domestic cities and Asian major cities such as Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong or Taipei. Venue #1 (Workshop site on Oct. 28-29):    Fukuoka Soft Research Park Center Building   The workshop will be held at Fukuoka Soft Research Park Center Building on the first two days, Oct. 28-29, located at Seaside Momochi area which is a modern and relaxed area with good accommodation, shopping and leisure facilities such Fukuoka Tower, Fukuoka Dome (the largest baseball stadium in Japan), hotels, shopping malls, restaurants and museums. The rich natural beauty of Fukuoka has been recognized by Hakata bay and islands in the Genkai National Park.   Banquet will be held at Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk (former JAL ResortSea Hawk Hotel Fukuoka) which is only 3 minutes walk from the workshop site. On line reservation for the Hilton Fukuoka as well as a neighborhood hotel will be open until June 28th.

Venue #2 (3rd day, Oct. 30):    INAMORI Frontier Research Center, Kyushu University-Ito Campus   On the last day we will move to Inamori Frontier Research Center at Kyushu University-Ito Campus, where 30 minute bus ride from Hilton Fukuoka. Charter bus will be arranged for the workshop attendee.   Followed by Lab. Tour at KU.
